1. Take the A286 Midhurst road (en voiture) through Fernhurst, past the King’s Arms, and turn right at the first track, marked Lassams Farm, after the pub, and opposite Dawes Farm. Park the car in a convenient place, and follow the FP, across a Footbridge to a X-road.
2. Turn left along a track – the sign straight on is the return route - leaving a house on your right, and you come to a road. Straight across and follow the access road to Upper Lodge, follow the FP left off the road, and basically you then go round Upper Lodge. Follow the path for some way, and then take the first marked right turn. After a left turn this leads to a road.
3. Follow the road a short distance, and then you have a choice. The shorter walk goes straight on, but we will bear left. Just before you reach a lake turn right. Follow this path to the end of the field, and if you want to make this a longer walk turn left. See below.
4. Otherwise at the end of the field, you go right for about 20 yards, and you will see a left hand turn. Follow the signs until you reach a X-road, and there you turn right. This then takes you back to the X-road shortly after the start where you turned left.
5. Turn left, over the footbridge, and back to where you parked your car.


For the longer version turn left at the bottom of the field, walk past Lower Hawksfold towards Hawksfold Farm, and just before the farm take a sharp right, almost back on yourself. At the next X-road, straight over and that leads you back to the X-road shortly after the start, where you turn left and back to your car.
